Now on its more than three decades of operation, the PTA still reaffirms its avowed commitment towards ensuring the country's essential tourism infrastructure needs as the DOT's physical structure builder.
In cognizance of the overall national development directions as mapped out in NEDA's Medium Term Development Plan for the travel industry and specifically detailed in the DOT's development plan, as well as in consonance with recent presidential pronouncements, the Authority's 2008 policy guidelines revolve primarily on the following: pursuance of tourism infrastructure development to include projects in government-identified tourism super region (Central Philippines), divestment of properties in line with the national privatization program; and optimization of the revenue-generating potentials of its business entities.
With its continued infrastructure undertakings and the efficient operation of tourism business facilities, the Authority contributes to the attainment of the national agenda of providing jobs to uplift the economic condition of a considerable number of the labor force and of improving the physical environment of the localities where tourism products are developed while conserving and protecting the natural endowments/attractions in these areas.
